Why Pray?

The love and spark in any relationship is bound to fizzle out if not nurtured through communication and little acts of love. So too, in our relationship as sons and daughters of God, it is essential for us to speak and listen to Him. We do not always need words to communicate. We can also spend moments of solitude in His presence, thus making our prayer not a litany of wishes but a heart that knows Him and listens to His voice.

God speaks to us in myriad of ways. He can speak to us through Sacred Scripture, through the Sacraments, life experience(s), and even through family, friends and elders.

We can speak to God in the silence of our hearts or aloud in words, through music and our songs of praise. God who is a loving Father waits eagerly to hear our words of praise, adoration, thanksgiving, petition, joy, wonder and even so our words of fear and sorrow.

A prayer said in faith has the power to move mountains in our lives, our homes, our country and our world.
