Silent Prayer

A simple but most effective method of praying is the repetition of these three simple lines for ten minutes each. Place yourself in the presence of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) as you follow this simple form of prayer.

  1. Embrace me: Young and old alike we all need love. We need to feel the comfort of an embrace and the assurance of a hug. Here in the repetition of these simple words we ask our God who is Love to give us the comfort and assurance of a warm and loving embrace.

As we repeat these words, we are asking the Lord to enfold and envelope us in His love.

  2. Nurture me: Like a mother nestles her babe and nourishes it in her arms, so too, we come to our Lord in need of His nourishment. Repeating these words for ten minutes will help us realise how feeble and helpless we are without Him. As we make this the prayer of our hearts we make available our tired selves to be nourished by Him.

  3. Transform me: Prayer must ultimately lead to us dying to self and Christ dwelling in us; that we may be transformed into His image and likeness. In the simple repetition of these words, we ask the Lord to transform our hearts like unto His. To change us, mould us and do the same gently in His love.

And thus with the repetition of these simple yet powerful words, we dare to enter into the Holy of Holies making ourselves available to receive His love, His nourishment and His transforming power.
