Gospel Reading: JN 13:16-20

“no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” (Jn 13:16)

One of the most difficult virtues to acquire is one of true humility. Jesus gave us a symbolic example of what it means to be humble by washing the feet of his disciples.

True humility consists in loving others and serving them without expecting anything in return. True humility consists in apologising to another person for a harsh word spoken and showing genuine repentance. And for taking correction in good grace without showing resentment.
