Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Gospel Reading: MT 22:1-14

In today's Gospel the kingdom of heaven is likened to the grand feast that a king throws on the most auspicious day of his life as his son is getting married. Now imagine all the rich food and choicest drinks this feast must have. Surely the best of everything as it is being offered by the king himself.
Similarly the kingdom of heaven is a feast which holds the best of everything that our human minds can think of, and as the king sends his servants to call his subjects as his guests, so does our God call us to be a part of his feast. In fact, the invitation is being sent to us repeatedly, but we need to ask ourselves if we are paying any heed to it or not being able to look beyond our own petty interests, whiling away the time in this world and losing out on the eternal reward.
